As you know, we love to discover new recipes and healthy alternatives to processed foods. And more importantly, we love to share it with all of you. Here, we reveal our favorite food techniques from both our own recipe Rolodex and chefs, herbalists, and nutritionists crafting delicious spins on nutrient-dense delicacies
- 5 whole cloves
- 2.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground Ceylon cinnamon
- 12 egg yolks
- 1.5 cups of organic turbinado sugar
- 2.5 cups of rum
- 4 cups of organic preferably raw half and half
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Combine milk, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves in a pan. Over low heat over low heat slowly bring to a boil.
In a bowl combine egg yolks and sugar and whisk together until fluffy. I like to use an electric milk frother. Pour mixture into saucepan. Cook over medium heat and stir until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil. Strain and remove cloves. Let cool for 1 hour.
Stir in rum, remaining 2 teaspoon of vanilla,cream and nutmeg. Refrigerate for 8 hours before serving.
