hair (silk) is Agent’s first-ever serum for styling, smoothing, softening, and repairing your hair. Formulated with one of my closest friends Dara Kaye, it is a jasmine & amber-infused lightweight silk peptide hair serum that delivers strong, smooth, and shiny hair while also protecting your mane against future damage. It is both restorative and protective - and one of the main reasons for that is that it is formulated with hyaluronic acid. It is really a key star player in the formulation lineup - but one that often goes underrated.
Think of hyaluronic acid, and you will probably think of your skin, skincare, and maybe our holi (water) too! Hyaluronic acid is one of my favorite substances in my beauty regime because not only is it a substance that is found naturally inside of the body, but it is actually something called a humectant which means it can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. If that isn’t ultimate hydration, then I don’t know what is.
As we age, the production of some substances in the skin and hair (including hyaluronic acid, elastin, and collagen) decreases. People often focus on restoring this in their skin, not their hair, though. But now, thanks to going viral on TikTok recently, the world is starting to understand how powerful hyaluronic acid can be for your hair, as well as your skin! People are starting to get on the ‘hyaluronic for hair hype’ more than ever before, but with hair (silk), you get the benefits of hyaluronic acid and so many other ingredients too.
Due to the power it has to retain water and draw moisture to the surface, hyaluronic acid can benefit your hair in so many ways, including:
- Ultimate hydration - like with skin, hyaluronic acid works the same way on hair shafts, helping the hair fibers to retain and seal in moisture, meaning more hydrated hair. Apply it to damp hair, and it is thought that it actually traps water into the hair too;
- A barrier to frizz (and dirt!) - by sealing the cuticle of the hair, hyaluronic acid acts almost like a barrier meaning that moisture (and urban pollution and so much more) can’t get into the shaft as easily to cause the frizziness and dullness that we all know and often hate during the hotter months of the year;
- Revitalizing the hair - for dry and damaged hair (often damaged through busy city life, pollution, tying it up a lot, color and heat treatment, and more), hyaluronic acid can also help the hair to retain water, and in doing so, this increased moisture levels actually fill in the cracks and gaps on the hair shaft making the hair look happier, healthier and more revitalized.
As well as ultimate hydration, the filling and restorative effect of the hyaluronic acid in hair (silk) helps to promote the appearance of thick, voluminous hair, delivered with a sleek, smooth and healthy finish.
This, plus the incredible other ingredients like french silk peptides, naturally derived Passiflora Edulis Seed, Oryza Sativa Rice Bran, and Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil as well as monoi and an incredible active ingredient called Beracare ARS Hair Serum™ make hair (silk) an incredible styling serum that is SO much more than ‘just hyaluronic acid’. hair (silk) is the perfect non-silicone solution to deliver the ultimate gloss, softness, and shine to your hair.
And what makes it even better? Because the hyaluronic acid in hair (silk) is combined with so many other powerful ingredients, it works with your hair over time, not just for a day. The hyaluronic acid is a big driver in that too.
Remember, hair (silk) is a styling serum. I love to apply it to towel-dried hair. I put half of a dropper in the palm of my hands and spread the product evenly through my hair. And if I’m blow-drying, I will use a quarter of a dropper on towel-dried hair, then I blow dry as normal and then use a few drops as a finishing oil for extra shiny, silky hair.
Hyaluronic acid really helps you reach softer, smoother hair - and I *LOVE* that it is part of our hair (silk) formulation. At Agent, we’re always ahead of the trend.
