holi (radiance) Ceramides: A Skin Moisturizer That Works From The Inside Out!

Imagine a skin moisturizer that works from the inside out!  Well, that's exactly what my latest supplement, holi (radiance), can do for you.  It’s an oral, powder-based supplement, perfect for mixing in your morning coffee, water with lemon, juice, or smoothie, and with a blend of MSM and powerful ceramosides, it’s an absolute game-changer in the fight against aging. With holi (radiance) you can actually fortify your skin from the inside out.

Today I’m going to tell you why the ceramides in our bodies are key to anti-aging and how supplementing with patented, potent ceramosides can help you combat signs of aging by encouraging natural ceramide production from within.

What are Ceramides?

Ceramides are a type of lipid, or fat molecule, that are naturally found in the skin's outermost layer, known as the stratum corneum. We all have them - they make up around 50% of our epidermis and play a crucial role in maintaining the skin's barrier function by keeping it hydrated and protected from external stressors, such as pollution and UV rays. Ceramides work by filling in the gaps between skin cells, creating a strong and protective barrier that prevents moisture loss and maintains healthy, supple skin. In short, ceramides are a vital component of healthy skin and are essential for maintaining a healthy and youthful-looking complexion.

Natural Ceramides Decrease As We Age

As time passes, the level of ceramides naturally present in the skin decreases. Skin with high ceramide levels is glowing, moisturized and healthy but low ceramide levels can lead to dryness, tightness, wrinkles, and other skin conditions. This means it is essential to explore additional ways of restoring and producing ceramides to help prevent dryness, irritation and the onset of aging.

Fear not -  help is at hand!  By supplementing with patented, potent ceramosides, you can combat signs of aging from within. Because ceramides act as the cement that holds our skin cells together, incorporating ceramosides into your wellness routine can help restore your skin's moisture barrier and give you a youthful glow. Of course, topical skincare products are important, but why stop there?

What Are Topical and Oral Ceramides?

So, ceramides are a natural type of lipid molecule that occur naturally within the body, helping to maintain the skin's barrier function and retain moisture. Ceramide supplements on the other hand, are plant-derived versions that can be consumed orally as a supplement and it is these incredible phytoceramides that I have formulated into my new product, holi (radiance).

I developed holi (radiance) with ceramosides that are a patented extract of phytoceramides and DGDG from wheat. They help restore the skin's natural ceramide levels from within (rather than through topical application) and come from a unique French extraction process, which concentrates the lipidic portion of the wheat kernel and removes gluten. They are specifically designed to enhance the skin's natural ceramide levels and improve its moisture retention abilities, leading to a more supple, plump, and youthful appearance.

How do the cera mixes work?

The ceramides are a biomimetic complex that protect the skin by replenishing it with new ceramides, which permeate the bloodstream and restore the water barrier. They also halt trans-epidermal water loss, and fill in the crevices that deplete hydration and plumpness. This can help with premature aging, skin degradation, and renewing the skin with a luscious radiance too.

The Benefits of Supplementing with Ceramides:

  1. Improved Skin Hydration, Water Retention and Moisture Levels

Ceramides work by attracting and retaining moisture in the skin, leading to improved hydration levels and a more radiant complexion. Thanks to this water retention, ceramides keep your skin hydrated; but low levels of ceramides lead to low levels of hydration. When this happens, moisture can escape and this can weaken the skin’s barrier, making the skin more prone to absorbing toxic stressors, as well as leaving you with dehydrated, dry, flaky, itchy skin.

A study in the Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology Journal found that the phytoceramides they studied improved the damaged skin barrier and hydration levels and that they could be a new way to make an ‘ideal skin barrier moisturizer’. Other clinical studies on ceramosides have shown they have a significant, positive impact on the health and hydration of your skin. These studies demonstrated an increase in skin hydration of up to 65% and a reduction in wrinkles of up to 22%.

Clinical studies also support that ceramides can increase skin hydration and can act like a skin’s natural moisturizer. Studies showed an increase in hydration of over 16% compared to a placebo within just 15 days (and 23% compared to baseline). Also, after two months, this improvement in skin hydration was found to increase to over 21% compared to the placebo (36% compared to baseline).

2. Reduced Wrinkles and Signs of Aging

Because ceramides help to lock in moisture, improve skin hydration and fill in the gaps between skin cells, they help to nurture the skin’s barrier, keeping it hydrated, soft and supple. They can also help fight against age and sun damage, both of which reduce the effectiveness of your skin’s natural ceramides too.

A hydrated, moisturized skin state has also been connected to a reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, helping to promote a more youthful and vibrant complexion. Clinical studies back this up too. One study showed that consuming ceramosides for only 15 days resulted in a 9% reduction in wrinkles. This figure doubled to 18% after two months. Furthermore, skin elasticity improved by over 18% within 15 days and over 26% in just two months, according to another study. After two weeks, the same study showed significant reductions in wrinkles. The European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics also confirmed that replenishing depleted ceramides can restore the skin barrier and have beneficial effects for skin health and skin aging.

  1. Increased Overall Skin Health and Skin Barrier

Conditions such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and aging skin are often marked by impaired skin barrier function and dryness. This is commonly linked to a decrease in ceramide levels so increasing these levels can not only help with overall skin health and skin barrier function, but also in the battle against skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

  1. Protection Against UV Rays

While holi (radiance) is an oral powder-based supplement, research also extends to topical coverage. Incorporating a moisturizer and sunscreen containing ceramides into a skincare routine has been shown to safeguard against skin barrier damage caused by UV radiation and enhance skin barrier health against long-term sun exposure too. Powerful!

So, ceramosides would appear to be a powerful superhero in skincare! This trademarked ingredient can help to improve both the health and appearance of your skin. Taking holi (radiance), can encourage collagen synthesis, can help inhibit collagenase, and can improve your skin's barrier function to protect against external environmental factors. With long-term use, you may also see a visible reduction in wrinkles, improved elasticity, and increased radiance and uniformity for a more youthful-looking complexion.

This is why I couldn't be more thrilled to introduce this revolutionary ingredient into our newest formulation and I can't wait for you to try holi (radiance). Get ready to say hello to your best and healthiest skin yet!
