Job Description: D&W: We are the founders and co-CEOs of Sakara Life, the wellness brand on a mission to nourish and transform lives through the power of plants as medicine.

Eat this for: For a revved up metabolism!

Where do you find recipe inspo?

D: I’m inspired by unique superfoods and finding ways to incorporate them into our future menus.

W: My mom’s organic garden in Sedona. I love thinking of new ways to eat for the season.

Top 3 Instagram accounts for inspiration:

D: @dr.marielbuque, @bonberi, @ericachidi

W: @drmarkhyman, @shamandurek, @avivaromm

Dream dinner guest to cook for:

D: Oprah—every time.

W: Michael Pollan.

Favorite skin food ingredient and why:

D: Watermelon! Hydration is key for maintaining glowing skin and I can’t get enough of it right now.

W: Hemp seeds are super anti-aging and one of my all-time favorite ingredients. These little powerhouses contain essential fatty acids (gamma linoleic acid) and are a complete protein.

Must-have cookbook:

D: Can I say ours? Eat Clean, Play Dirty features some of our client’s favorite recipes and is the perfect way to get a taste of the Sakara life.

W: I also love The Clean Plate by Gwenyth Paltrow for it’s beautifully simple recipes I can make with ingredients from the garden or farmers market.

Go-to quick, healthy meal:

D: Whatever is in my fridge from my Sakara delivery that week! I’m grateful to be able to grab one when I only have a couple of minutes between Zoom meetings.

W: I love to make a huge chopped salad with any/all vegetables I have in my fridge; broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, celery, carrots, peppers, beets, plus rice and beans. It’s an adaptation of my mom’s recipe. We share our version of the recipe in our cookbook Eat Clean, Play Dirty.

Skincare mantra:

D: Joy is a nutrient.

W: Eat your water.

8 to 12 oz freshly brewed coffee
¼ c unsweetened almond milk, either warm or chilled
1 level scoop Sakara Metabolism Super Powder

Combine ingredients in a high-speed blender. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute until frothy. Carefully remove lid, transfer to mug, and serve immediately. Alternatively, combine ingredients in a wide-mouth jar or coffee thermos and use an immersion blender to combine and froth. Serve over ice if chilled.
