Agent Woman Dianna Cohen

[ey-juhnt woo m-uh n]

adjective

A woman who embodies the spirit of truth, authenticity and ingenuity. She lives her potential, embracing her unique gifts and shining her light to consciously create a better world. As an Agent of beauty and inspiration, she is a woman admired by our founder, Jena Covello.

Meet our Agent Woman Dianna Cohen. An inspiring entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Crown Affair, Dianna believes haircare is a daily practice and that it plays a huge part in being well and caring for yourself. Her mission with Crown Affair (“mindful care for healthier hair”) was to create a new kind of hair care brand that focused on this experience and the ritual of taking time for yourself, helping people feel really good about their hair, transforming the health of their hair, but more importantly, their relationship to it.

So, powered by a creative vision and a strong background in all things branding, she launched her holistic hair care brand in early 2020. It’s now become a cult favorite, with a huge following of loyal customers who love both the ethos and the products - ingredients you can trust, effective formulations, and beautiful handmade tools you’ll look forward to using every day to add to the rituals in your life.

We sat down with Dianna recently and asked her to share some insights into her wellbeing and lifestyle.

Name: Dianna Cohen

Daily Uniform: Something simple, comfortable— often a silk loose pant with a tailored top. Off duty, vintage denim, white tee, ballet flats. I love leaning into more whimsical accessories and details with a more minimal base.

AM ritual: Rituals hold significant value in my life. Each morning, I dedicate time to journaling using The Five Minute Journal and completing three stream-of-consciousness pages, known as ‘Morning Pages’. I set aside 15-20 minutes for stretching, accompanied by listening to a poetry podcast or a favorite album. I’ll make an iced americano and do my daily gua sha ritual. Three or four times a week I’ll also do a workout after my morning ritual.

PM wind down: In the evening, after working from home, I like to wind down with a glass of Ghia, watching the sun set to music, and making dinner with my husband. I’m an evening shower / bath person, so I enjoy my time doing lymphatic drainage and gua sha while mapping the day ahead in my head. I enjoy reading and try to read a few pages each night. I’m also a creative night owl, so that sometimes conflicts with my attempt to be a morning person, so I just flow with it!

Something that puts you in a good mood:

Spending quality time in nature is something that never fails to uplift my spirits. It allows me to disconnect from the day-to-day busy-ness, and to reconnect with myself, and gain a fresh perspective.

Something that’s inspiring you at the moment:

I’m always inspired by the work of Jim Henson and J. R. R. Tolkien. I’ll often turn to their references for world building. Sensibilities from both The Dark Crystal and Lord of the Rings are deeply imbued within the Crown Affair universe, so whenever I need a little inspiration, I love diving into their worlds.

Best advice you’ve ever received:

Take Your Time. No one ever got mad at a slow simmer. You heat up too fast and you can burn quickly too— whether it’s with a romantic relationship or making a soft scramble, low and slow is the way.

A wellness expert who has significantly helped you:

Ara Katz, the Co-Founder of Seed, and a dear friend who has been my mentor for a decade. I’ve learned so much from her and the way she approaches care, healing, and her general perspective on the world.

Favorite wellness/beauty treatment:
I find microcurrent facials to be incredibly effective for tightening and lifting. Although they don't involve extractions, the microcurrent treatment truly gives my face a noticeable lift.

Go-to stress remedy:

I find clarity and balance through daily journaling and stretching. Writing allows me to unload the weight of stress, gain perspective, and uncover hidden insights. Stretching is something my leadership coach really unlocked for me — one day I was stressed and she asked me, “what do you need to do right now, in this moment?” And I said “stretching”, so I did. That was a huge unlock for me — move and connect with my body.

Supplements you can’t live without:

Seed Daily Synbiotic Supplement: I’ve been taking Seed since it launched. It’s the first symbiotic that has worked for me and I've tried dozens of vitamins and probiotics.

MaryRuth’s Organic Elderberry Liquid Drops: I take a couple of full droppers a day. I swear by this immune-boosting elixir and recommend it to everyone. Since taking it, I've experienced a remarkable change—I feel invincible and haven't fallen ill.

Magnesium — I take magnesium in the evenings, I find it calms me down

Vitamin C — my favorite, I take 1 - 2 a day
