Why I don't eat fat before noon- give the liver a break and lose bloating fast

I wanted to check in to share a revolutionary piece of advice with you that I have implemented into my life and morning routine, and that has made the biggest difference for me. It’s something that I learned from the Medical Medium, and my secret is that I stopped eating fat in my diet before noon, and it has been REVOLUTIONARY. It's not something I do every day, but I feel sluggish or have gained weight it is my first go-to remedy.

I have honestly never felt better since leaving fat out my morning routine. My bloating has totally reduced, and I honestly have more energy than ever.

I always knew that the liver was important for detoxing the body, but I had no idea it was so important for general health and also weight loss. Did you? The liver is the ultimate multi-tasking organ, and it’s heavily involved in regulating your blood sugar levels, which is something I have only learned recently.

So the liver is a major fat-burning organ?

Yes! The liver helps your body break down fats in your body into fatty acids so that they can then be digested properly and move easily through your digestive tract and out of the body.

Over the past few decades, society has become more obsessed than ever with quick weight loss results, and the irony is that one of the key organs responsible for this has been inside us all of this time; we just don’t always treat it right, meaning it can’t always do its job properly.

To do its job properly - it needs to be in good condition -. A healthy liver will be strong and powerful, metabolizing toxins and fats easily and quickly, which means a well functioning and optimal metabolism, breaking down good quality, nutritious food, resulting in a strong metabolism that burns calories well - converting them to more than enough energy for your body to function and feel great.

To do this, your liver needs to *not* be overwhelmed.

If the liver becomes clogged or is overburdened by large amounts of toxins (these can come from everywhere - including the air, the water we ingest, non-organic or pesticide loaded foods, emotional stress and trauma, products we use on our skin, etc ) then it might become sluggish.

Poor  liver function can come from a number of things but often happens if we consume a high level of poor quality food - like lots of refined carbs, high sugar items, hydrogenated oils, and oils damaged by high heat from cooking (like vegetable oils), etc.

If our body is absorbing these types of foods, there is a high toxic load to process, and your body has to work harder and go into overdrive to get things done.

What happens when the liver is stressed?

When it’s stressed out, the liver will take all of the toxins that it’s trying to remove and dump them in your gallbladder, which will try to help the process of detoxification to get these things out of your body. If the gallbladder gets overrun with toxins too, the bile that it produces won’t be able to flow and leave the gallbladder. Instead, it will back up and then lead to further congestion and end up dumping fat into the intestines, as well as storing it in your tissues, rather than breaking it down.

This leads to weight gain over time and many other side effects.

What kind of side effects?

A blocked up and overburdened liver can lead to physical conditions like constant fatigue, weakness, bloating / gas / digestive issues, skin rashes, dry and dark skin patches, acne, hormone imbalances, brain fog, trouble concentrating, pain in your ribs, dizziness, headaches, cramping, blurry vision - as well as emotional side effects (increased anger).

So, cutting out fat in the morning is where I should start? What else?

Yes. Your diet is the best place to start. Focus on getting a real, whole food diet (preferably organic), with unrefined sources of carbs, veggies, fruits, and healthy fats. Focus on quality sources always so your body has to deal with fewer toxins. Also focus on sour foods, leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, fresh herbs, local raw honey, green tea, coconut oil, and apple cider vinegar.

Foods high in high-antioxidant content also fight the negative effects of poor food choices, stress, and poor air quality while increasing your liver’s natural liver detoxification.

Also, avoid excessive alcohol or caffeine, sugary drinks and snacks, refined and bleached grains, non-organic fruits and veggies, packaged goods of any kind, and factory-farmed animal products.

Some supplements can help, and these are:

  • Milk thistle, holy basil, dandelion root, licorice root, bupleurum; as well as
  • Superfood powers - brussel sprouts, kale, alfalfa, carrot Powder, grape seed extract;
  • High fiber sources – psyllium, collinsonia, apple pectin, fennel, and fenugreek soluble and insoluble fibers to support the digestive system; and
  • Omega-3 oil.

A well functioning liver will lead to increased energy levels, regular menstrual cycles, clear skin, less digestive issues, regular bowel movements, fresh breath, strong oral health and more.

My secret tip

The easiest way to get rid of fats in the morning is to have a go-to alternative.

I’m obsessed with creating a holi (mane) watermelon, mint & collagen smoothie. Whenever I’m at home (and not traveling) I’ll also add fresh or frozen passion fruit to it as well. I also stick to no coffee until noon since almond, oat and dairy all contain fat. I incorporate a green juice and a plate of fruit.

Here’s my go-to recipe:

  • Ice
  • 1 scoop of holi (mane)
  • Watermelon
  • Frozen passion fruit
  • Mint

Just blend it up and you’re good to go. It’s the perfect morning smoothie that helps you remove fats and let your body complete its natural detox routine as effectively as possible.

Now I understand how the liver works, I understand how we can often bombard our body and liver without even meaning to, even when we try to eat well.

For example, if you eat a high fat dinner the night before, when you wake up your liver will already have been overworking all night long to try to process this meal.

Fat is hard on the liver! Putting more into the equation in the morning just means more work for the liver to do. Give the liver a break by cutting it out before noon..

For me, it now makes total sense why I need to take these fats out of my morning so that my body can complete its natural detox routine and do its job as effectively as possible. I also ensure that I’m flushing my body through with clean, filtered water, from the moment that I wake up, to support my liver doing what it needs to.

Understanding how crucial optimal liver health is is a real game-changer.

Cut the fat out every morning until noon & see how you feel!

I hope this is helpful!
