Besides it's beautiful scent and topical properties, rose water has incredible internal benefits. 

Cultivated in Iran with more than 18,000 cultivars, Iranians call the plant the "flower of prophet Muhammad" because they believe the scent reminds them of him.

Rosa Damascena is used for rose water and rose essential oil. Rose water has been used since the time of Cleopatra. It contains vitamins: A, C, E, and B. It has been used to treat coughs sore throats, reflux, anxiety and stress. It may help speed the recovery of wounds, allergies, skin conditions and headaches. Sipping rose water tea is hydrating and cooling.

You can make your own rose water at home by storing organic rose petals in a jar filled with distilled water and steeping it in the sun for 2 days. To make rose water tea, steep a handful of rose petals in boiling water for 10 minutes and strain. Pink and red petals make the most fragrant tea. You can also buy commercially prepared rose water.
