Jena's September Edit

As I visit some of my favorite European cities -  Florence (where I interned at Prada), Venice, Antibes (my home away from home) I’m combining work with pleasure. As I'm not quite ready to pack away my summer wardrobe just yet, here are some favorite products, pieces and places to enjoy the season a little longer.

Two things I never travel without are my holi (soleil) and holi (sun) so I can make sure my face is protected and nourished all day long. Both of these products are so easy to use and reapply, and fit into your bag if you are out exploring a cobbled town, visiting a farmer’s market or having a few hours at the beach before lunch on a terrace with a sea view. holi (soleil) is a sheer, dew-enhancing skin protecting drop formulated with hydrating ingredients, antioxidants, and SPF 50+.  And when I want a tint, I apply holi (sun) spf 50 dewy tinted sundrops - a tinted non-nano zinc oxide sunscreen drop with SPF 50+ protection too, which now comes in 5 blendable, radiance-boosting shades.

If you need an instant, sun-kissed glow and don’t have the time to lie in the sun, then these Drunk Elephant Bronzing Sun Drops are superb, plus they’re vegan and cruelty-free. They’re incredibly good for your skin as they contain antioxidants which help stimulate collagen production and omega fatty acids which act as building blocks in skin cells, giving you smoother, healthier and younger looking skin. What’s more these drops give an instant result - on arms, legs, chest and face - or anywhere else that needs some automatic sunshine.

I find hair can be a bigger challenge than usual if you're out in the heat or swimming in the ocean, a cute little cove or a chlorinated swimming pool. But I have a couple of products to help out.

My holi (locks) strengthening, detangling, growth-promoting, anti-hair fall serum is like a lifeguard for your hair, rescuing and protecting it. You can use it overnight to smooth and strengthen strands and boost hair growth, and it’s also great to apply before you set off for the day, coating your hair to protect from sea and sun. We recommend using a gua sha comb to apply this for the best results and our stainless steel gua sha stimulating scalp comb is perfect for the job. It acts as a massage tool to stimulate circulation, bringing nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles. And because I designed it with wide teeth, there’s a reduction in pulling and breakage.

Our best-selling hair, skin, and nail supplement, holi (mane) which I formulated with just two powerhouse superfoods, marine collagen and pearl powder, is still an essential part of my daily routine. These travel-sized sachets make life easier when you’re away from home. If you sign up for a subscription on these, we’ve got some great offers.

If you’re crossing time zones, dealing with jet lag, or just need to get back into your sleep cycle while you’re away, then calm (beauty) spermidine & taurine daily supplement can really help.

Because we created individual sachets you can easily take these on your travels. Carry a few in your hand luggage for the flight because calming down and getting some good quality sleep on a plane is not the easiest thing!

And then, when you’re looking tres gorge on a vintage style lounger by that heated outdoor pool, just order a huge glass of sparkling water and ice, and add a sachet to that for a fabulous poolside mocktail. Restore calm, sleep better, and age backwards while you do!

This polka dot mini dress from Dolce & Gabbana is so fun for late summer evenings. It’s got a 1950s vintage vibe with its fitted silhouette and sweetheart neckline, brought right up to date with a chic mini hemline. The halter neck tie with its statement bow at the back is just stunning. Find someone to walk away from when you’re wearing this!

These white, strappy Manolos are chic and really comfy - they have a leather upper and sole, a stylish almond-shaped toe, and complement the dots on the D&G dress perfectly. Just make sure you tie the ankle ties securely!

Dilara Findikoglu is a Turkish-British designer and graduate of St Martin’s, who creates pieces with a touch of gothic romance and a hint of punk. Famed for designing Margot Robbie’s red Barbie dress, she’s now translated that vibe into the design of this absolutely incredible swimsuit in the hottest of red shades. Inspired by 18th Century corsetry, it’s made from a smooth, stretchy fabric and is extremely flattering.

A silk headscarf never goes out of style. From Hermes to Dior and many fashion houses in between, the silk scarf reached iconic status thanks to Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Jackie. This rose print silk square from Dolce & Gabanna is reminiscent of those classics, and each one is individually hand-sewn in Italy. Perfect for breezy boating days.

I’m loving this Belharra beach bag from Goyard. Not only is it lightweight and really suitable for taking out each day for the beach, shopping or a day exploring, it’s reversible too and folds nicely to go into your main luggage. The only thing I’m not sure about is whether Federico is allowed inside it, but he’s trying his best!

I’ll be visiting two of my many favorite places during my vacation, and I go back to these year after year because they're both so typical of the region and the people are just wonderful.

In Antibes, the Marché provençal is a bustling farmers market selling fresh, regional fruit and vegetables from local growers, alongside local olives, sun-dried tomatoes, spices, olive oils and meats. Some of the sellers have been there longer than I’ve been going - there’s always fish from Denis the fisherman, cheeses from Jacques the cheesemonger, fresh and dried flowers from Dominique the florist, and Coriscan specialties from Tony! Open 6am to 1pm, so you’ll have time to choose some seasonal, local treats and then sit at one of the cafes to watch the world go by.

One of my favorite beaches is Mala Beach in Eze, just a few minutes from Monaco. This is a small, secluded cove along the Cote d’Azur, with calm, clear, warm seawater, safe swimming and the added bonus of two superb restaurants. The beach is stony, so swim shoes are a great idea, and you can rent a lounger from the restaurants. Usually open from April through to October, it’s quieter on weekdays or late afternoons. For a cute day out, take a baguette lunch and some local fruit from the market, a book, and some Agent Nateur sunscreen!

If this has made you want to plan your next trip, look out for more of our city and travel guides coming soon!
