Agent Man Yves Spinelli

Agent Man

[ey-juhnt  m-uh n]

adjective

A man with tenacity, confidence, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a distinct point of view when it comes to holistic beauty, style, and wellness. Men that our founder, Jena Covello, admire most.

Spinelli Kilcollin began in a garage in 2010 and behind the namesake collection of exquisite jewels is the LA-based husband and wife team, Yves Spinelli and Dwyer Kilcollin. Known for their Galaxy rings, which are designed to be stacked or worn across several fingers, the brand’s pieces are distinct and synonymous with elevated craftsmanship and attention to detail. Meet half of the exceptional duo, Agent Man, Yves Spinelli.

Name: Yves Spinelli

Instagram: @yvesspinelli & @spinellikicollin

Beauty Icon: My wife, Dwyer Kilcollin, has an incredible sense of style and always looks amazing.

Favorite city for inspiration: Tokyo.

Introvert or extrovert: Myers Briggs says I’m an extrovert, but I think I’m more of an extroverted introvert!

Daily uniform: Jeans and t-shirt, either can be black or dark blue.

AM ritual: I’m up at 5:00 am so that I can get an hour jump on our baby since I have the morning shift. I breathe, meditate, visualize, and write down my goals for about 30 minutes. And then I drink coffee.

PM wind down: I sequester myself to the music room and listen to records for 1 to 2 hours.

Secret skill: I worked as a recording engineer in my early 20s and recorded radio commercials and indie bands.

Best Advice you’ve ever received: Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal.

A mistake you’ve learned from: So many! I always work to treat everyone as though they are the most important person in the world. It’s important to focus on others and less on yourself.

To your younger self: An event is empty. It’s up to you whether you see it as positive or negative. Turning a negative into a positive creates a world of opportunities.

A wellness expert who has significantly helped you: Jena Covello!

Favorite wellness/beauty book: “Creative Visualization” by Shakti Gawain

Three things you’re really into right now:

1) Cooking! Working at home allows me time to test a lot of new ideas.

2) Gardening. We planted our first garden and now are working daily to stave off predatory insects.

3) Pre-social distancing I used to host music nights where I would spin records for friends. I’ve since started a Spinelli Kilcollin Mixcloud account, where I’ve been sharing mixes with friends.

How are you managing anxiety in light of COVID-19: I’m focusing on creating my own reality and not allowing events to bring down my positivity. I give myself about 15 to 20 minutes for news and read it all objectively.

Is there a COVID-19 silver lining for you: It’s interesting to be present during such a major paradigm shift. There are going to be so many opportunities for those who are forward-thinking. During the Great Depression, the general consensus was that the industrial revolution was over and that oil production would never return. John Paul Getty gathered up oil leases for pennies and everyone thought he was crazy. Years later, he became the richest man in the world.
