Jena’s February Edit

Jena’s February Edit

This month, love is all around us. So I’m sharing more places I love, beauty products you’ll love, and as always some fabulous ways to treat ourselves.

Buttermilk Ski Resort is one of the prettiest mountains to ski. A little further away from the town than Aspen Mountain, it’s an easy-going and fun-filled place, perfect for beginners and surrounded by stunning scenery. In fact, the green and blue graded slopes have little stop-off points where you can admire the view. If you need an added incentive, sometimes they even serve free hot cider at the top of the mountain and hot chocolate at the bottom!

For apres-ski dining, here are two at the top of my list:

Matsuhisa, established in 1998, was the first Matsuhisa location outside of Chef Nobu’s original Beverly Hills restaurant. It’s set in the cutest Main Street Victorian House with a full menu downstairs and a lighter menu upstairs (with outdoor seating too!). I absolutely swear I’m addicted to their yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño and cucumber salad. Arrive early so you can sit at the gorgeous walnut cocktail bar.

Lunch or dinner with friends at the charming, candle-lit hideaway French Alpine Bistro in Aspen is always a treat. It’s super-chic and cosy, with a tempting cocktail list and traditional French favourites or lighter salads and bistro bowls. I’d highly recommend their crepes!

Our Agent Nateur body (balm) ageless body treatment crème gives you glistening, ageless Barbie-smooth skin! Not only will it nourish and deeply hydrate your skin, it will lift and firm, and keep your skin soft, glowing and youthful from head to toe. Our revitalizing formula is packed with hydrating plant extracts and skin-nourishing oils, and the rich, dewy, serum-like texture literally melts onto your skin for ultra hydration and a sexy, satin glow.

Get a soft, sun-kissed glow from this Simihaze all over face tint.  Its super pigmented formula is just amazing, and it comes in five shades, designed for all skin tones. My favourite is 02 Soft.

You can buy yourself flowers. I can’t go a day without our holi (water) rose and pearl hyaluronic essence. It instantly plumps and hydrates my skin, and it's loaded with pitaya extract, which instantly brightens. This is a secret Agent Nateur cult-favorite. Our customers swear that their skin feels noticeably firmer after applying it.

We also created a limited edition Valentine’s Day glow set containing our holi (bright) resurface glass face mask and our holi (glow) ageless eye and lip serum - two Agent Nateur cult-favorites to pamper skincare devotees into pre-date night gorgeousness. These will lift, resurface and moisturize your skin for an instant fresh-from-a-facial glow!  We’ve even included a face mask brush. The set comes bundled up in a complementary luxurious couture-grade red silk bag, in collaboration with luxury fashion and accessories designer Zizi Donohoe.

Current shades of Chanel le vernis nail polish have never looked more stunning: try 151 PIRATE for a chic, red moment, or 111 BALLERINA for a subtle, pinky nude. I shop for mine at  Violet Grey on Melrose Place.

La Bouche Rouge: Matte lipstick refill - I love the super chic packaging of this satin soft lipstick, my favorite shade is Rouge Rosie.

As a bonus, you’re saving the planet too - these refills can be used alone or popped into a reusable LBR leather lipstick case.

These Mach & Mach black satin double heart pumps are so gorgeous that you could wear them on a special date or a hot dinner with the girls.  The pink bow and crystal heart detail make them just the perfect purchase for this month.

B O O K S: Barbie fans are going crazy for this book before it’s even been released! I’m already clearing a space on my coffee table for Barbie™: The World Tour (Hardback) which is available for pre-order. Co-written by Greta Gerwig and her stylist Andrew Mukamel, it’s a loving homage, bursting with outfits inspired by the movie press tour, images of Barbies from the last few decades, and rare glimpses from the Mattel archives.

F L O W E R S: If you don’t already know it by now, buying flowers for yourself is a great habit to get into. Carrying them through town, arranging them when you get home, and looking at them as they bloom can be such a pleasure. So treat yourself, or a loved one to bring some joy. I love the huge choice at Empty Vase, but you can also check out your local flower or farmer’s market for some gorgeous stems.

A R T: The National Portrait Gallery, London, is the perfect place for a cute date or to spend a little alone time recharging, being inspired by centuries of art, and do some people watching.  Entry is free and they do late nights Fridays and Saturdays. There’s so much to see, so make sure you allow time to visit their cafe, cocktail bar, or restaurant. And check their event calendar for the drop-in drawing sessions!  If you’re too far away, check out your nearest gallery and plan a visit.

M U S I C: If you follow me, you can’t have missed my love for Madonna. As an icon, an inspiration and a performer, she’s the perfect example of loving yourself, what you do, and not giving a damn what people think. I’ve already been to one show on this tour and am dying to go again - it felt like the 90s and so reminded me of my formative years. The show is incredible and the energy from the crowd is amazing. Not to mention the stunning outfits, perfect choreography and wow that stamina! I’d say New York is the best place to see it if possible, but if Madonna isn’t visiting your city this month, a close second is making sure you get into the groove with The Immaculate Collection - download it to your playlist for the car, your run or your gym workout.
